C4 Mr. Carbon 119 Review

C4 Mr. Carbon 119 Review

C4 gun Mr. Carbon 119cm
I wanted to give the readers of the Underground Waterman a honest unbiased review on this gun , from a Southern California diver

Let's start with the cons

1., The line release is a bit of a pain in the ass, but with time you can reload with your eyes closed , my friend David Holdsworth said it best, “the C4 line release is defiantly a acquired taste”

2., The reel ,The reel functions great except For the front of the frame If you look at the picture, you can see these plastic bushing's In front of the reel frame. - I have found when you put the drag on bigger fish the reel line can jam in between the plastic and steel in the bushing's = this has almost caused me to loose some big fish

3., with The Price tag of $975 US , the Mr. Carbon is the most expensive euro on the market

4., the gun was designed to hunt the Mediterranean so they designed the gun to use 1 band

The Pros=

1., The beauty, pictures can't do this gun justice ,

2., The Balance and shape, When it comes to tracking This gun is the best gun on the market by far When tracking fish you really Forget you have a gun in your hand ,when hunting it feels like you are pointing at fish with your finger.

3., The Handle, This handle is as good as it get's, with its high inline placement and adjustable raked angle to fit any hand

4., The gun is very versatile For bottom fishing/asspetto You can go from a very mild gun powered with a single 5/8 band a 6.5 shaft Or for bigger Game go to a ¾ band and a 7 mil
salvimar torrsion 2 shaft

6., The trigger mech, This titanium roller Trigger mechanism sets the standard for all mech's Its totally adjustable and as smooth as butter.

7, the reverse trigger mechanism gives you more band stretch

I think C4 really put allot of thought into this gun . They addressed everything that makes a gun accurate ,like the trigger pull, the closed muzzle with the band inline , the Demka wishbone ensure's you have the bands pulling even, and the shape of the C4 handles all the recoil with out the weight and bulkiness of traditional guns.

If I could change anything on this gun it would be the reel for reasons stated above ,And the line release ,I would change the line release to a Bottom line release to help with those “up close shots” that we So Cal Hunters often take on are local fish like WSB or Dorado ..

I know some would ask "why would I pay that much money for a "euro",when I can by a Mako or RA for a few hundred dollars"?? There's nothing that I can say to sway you ,I'm not trying too

I wrote this for those of you that want to have the best euro gun money can buy ,I strongly suggest you give the Mr. Carbon a try...

here are a few captures taken with the C4 Mr. Carbon for you to enjoy
